I very much enjoyed touring the fleet while it was at anchor at the library. I also regretted missing the reception on Friday evening. I'd liked to have met you...a fellow ship modeler. From a modelling standpoint, I'd have liked to hear about which were kit based vs. scratch built...as well as where you "shop". The last time I checked, Walmart did not have much of a pear or boxwood selection. I am currently building the Model Shipways Syren. Is there a local club or other builders in the area?

Thanks again for the show.

No clubs that I know of. I get most of my stuff through Model Expo. Hey, we're in the middle of the desert! Mary Rose was scratch, and the Bonhomme Richard was so seriously kit bashed as to almost be scratch - same with the Royal William.

No talks except when "the fleet" is on display at the Library or elsewhere. There are no modeling clubs that I'm aware of here in Midland, either. It is a rather solitary hobby.

Do you by any chance post your build logs on mode ship world.com?
