Sir Winston Churchill

Training ship - Private Yacht
Picture

Laid down in 1964, the Sir Winston Churchill was launched in 1966
She (or should it be he) was a training ship for the Tall Ship Youth Trust in Great Britain
The rig was a little different to accommodate almost all the sails found on any tall ship
The normal training compliment was 39 (three 13 sailor watches)
She competed in several Tall Ship events including the Tall Ship race in in 1979 with an all-female crew
The ship was sold in 2000 and became a private yacht
She was reengined and refitted in 2002 and now carries a crew of 9 with the capacity of 13 passengers
The Sir Winston Churchill is available for hire!
